Stormy Leather is accepting submissions for its next gallery exhibit, tentatively titled “VoyeuriS/M.” We are looking for shots that capture the intensity and movement of actual scenes. From the point of view of a Top wielding a singletail, through the eyes of a bottom as hot wax drips down onto their skin, over the shoulder of someone on the sidelines watching as someone’s wrists and ankles are bound; the perspective is up to you.

E-mail examples of your work that fits the theme to kathy@stormyleather.com. Files should be JPEG, GIF, or BMP format and should not exceed 2000x2000 pixels for initial submissions. We will contact those artists whose work we feel is best suited to the exhibit with further details and the gallery contract, including sales, liability, and exhibit duration information. We apologize, but we will not be able to provide feedback to those artists whose work is not selected.

All subjects must be at least 18 years old as of the date of the photograph. All photographers will be required to provide documented consent in order for work featuring identifiable subjects to be displayed (face is shown, photos show unique body modifications, etc). We will not accept any photographs that depict any act that is illegal in San Francisco.

Final selection of photographers and images will be made by August 15th, so submit your work now; we can’t wait to see it!

so we have decided to cancel this friday nights party. we have so few volunteers that we just didn't see the point in trying to open this friday
let me remind you all, Sf Citadel always needs volunteers to have a play party .. we need you .. Phil and I cant do this without your help.
so if your planing to attend a party why not Volunteer, you get in for (1 hour of your time ) then ya get to play all night. ! seems like a pretty sweet deal. we always appreciate our volunteers and the help they give us .. remember everyone this is your dungeon too!

Iron Dom was AWESOME!

This was my first time attending the legendary competition that is Iron Dom and it was definitely super fun. Watching people turn some totally unrelated random objects into actual usable toys was really pretty amazing. The scenes that took place were entertaining and definitely believable, proving that one doesn't need mucho cash to have a bag full of nice toys.

YAY to all the awesome tops for their impressive display of creativity and fun scenes, and congratulations to our very own Master Erik for becoming Iron Dom 2008. The title is definitely well deserved.

Last but for sure not least thanks to all the great volunteers for helping prepare the yummy food and do all the stuff that makes something like this happen, and of course to Domina for being behind this entirely unique event.

It was so great getting to participate in this after hearing about it after the fact last year. I look forward to being a part of this again next year.

Do They Have What It Takes? Suppose you were a top, stranded on a desert island with only the flotsam and jetsam that washed ashore with you. After you take care of your basic necessities, you fill your time making toys...and we know what kind of toys!!
Eventually, someone else washes ashore and lo and behold, they are a BOTTOM!!! After great rejoicing and throwing a party in your new companion's honor, of course, you play. But wait!!! What if that person who washed ashore was of the incorrect gender or orientation? Do you have what it takes to make it work anyway?  This is what we will find out in this contest to determine 2008's Iron Dom.
This is great fun for everyone, both participants and spectators. Come by and watch the contestants make their toys out of various things Domina chose. Visit with your friends. Stay for lunch and have one of Domina's Justly Famous Sloppy Joes (Endorsed by the President of Odyssey Himself.) We are honored to tell you that Citadel is allowing ALL PROCEEDS of this event to go to FOOD FOR THOUGHT, the Sonoma County Aids Food Bank where Domina Volunteers. And if you're smart, you'll stay for the usual Saturday Night Party at the Citadel.

first of, i want to say i am SO proud of bethie! she did an amazing job!
the food, the music, the tea, the outfits....yowza.

and speaking of outfits....damn. i thought my steampunk dress was nifty, but after seeing
all the works of art people were wearing, i realized i was seriously outclassed. those outfits
were jaw-dropping. i will have to make a serious upgrade if there is another victorian party.

i had a blast : ) i got a playdate with a cute lil subbie girl who was the only one other then
i to take more then one set of canings from Domina, so you know the kid has got potential.
i also got asked out on a date! when is the last time that has happened? it will be my first girly date,
so i am all excited.
AND i had Domina try and cure me of my wayword habits and cane the bejesus of of my booty. (pics to come)
alas, she failed to cure me of being sweet on bethie, altho it was a valiant effort. maybe more caning
is in order!

This Sunday (the 27th)- Picnic in Golden Gate Park!

WHEN: Sunday, July 27th, 1pm-4pm
WHERE: Golden Gate Park at Speedway Meadow, spaces 5 and 6.
(They're different tables than last year, but you can look for the
bundle of black and blue balloons again to find us!)
WHAT: Join the Society of Janus in the park for a picnic!
COST: $5 per person OR $10 per "family"

This is a family-friendly event available to Janus members and all
reciprocal organizations, SF Citadel members, and their friends and
family. The picnic is a non-play event for Janus members to socialize
is a low-key, fun environment. Janus will supply some chips and hot dogs, but you should bring
your own food if you want something other than that. There are grills
for your use- we will provide charcoal! We will also have a net set up
for volleyball or badminton. Previous years we blew bubbles and popped them with our singletails- it's a family environment, but we still manage to be a *little* perverted! We will be there no matter what the
weather offers up!

*Please note:* John F. Kennedy Drive is closed to vehicle traffic

*A note on the date: * Yes, the picnic is happening on the same day

film opposite the big summer blockbuster: Is anyone who's interested in
the blockbuster going to avoid going to see it because of the indy
flick? Nope. But the indy gives some options to those who hadn't
planned on heading out to the megaplex. It's counter-programming. :-)
"Up Your Alley" is the blockbuster here. If you're thinking about going
to that or the picnic, *you should go to Dore Alley! * But if you're
not going to Dore Alley, or if you want to come hang out with some
fellow kinksters and their families after you *do* go, then we'd love
to see you at the picnic!

Alley Finale mens party after Up Your Alley

Come to the Citadel after the Up Your Alley Fair on Sunday, the 27th, for a light mens-only party. The party runs from from 4-9pm, and costs only $10.

As a treat for newcomers to the scene, we will have two sets of sampler Tops:
From 5-6pm you can try out caning, singletails, and violet wands.
From 6-7pm you can experience flogging, CBT, and hot wax
Of course the rest of the dungeon will be open in the meantime, and before and after!

Don't know what to do with your toy bag? From noon on, buy a ticket to the Alley Finale and you can drop your bag off at the Citadel. Walk the 2 blocks to the Fair, buys some toys, cruise the boys, maybe pick one up and bring him back to the Citadel for the 4pm party!

What a GREAT way to end the weekend!

GLBT Historical Society Unveils Exhibit Celebrating GLBT Leather History

July 24, 2008 - October 31, 2008
Open Tuesdays-Saturdays 1-5pm

The GLBT Historical Society and Folsom Street Events celebrate 25 years of the Folsom Street Fair with a new exhibit.

The exhibit will open on Thursday July 24th, the Thursday prior to the Dore Alley Fair. There will be an opening night reception on Thursday July 24 at 6pm, and a special "Leather Week" reception on Thursday September 25 at 6pm. The exhibit will run through the end of October, which is National Gay History Month.

More than 400,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Folsom Street Fair, according to Andy Copper, Folsom Street Events™ Board President. Martin Meeker, a member of the GLBT Historical Society’s board, and co-curator of the exhibit, says, “the Folsom Street Fair is a unique event. It began as a neighborhood event, but has since become the largest leather/fetish event in the world, bringing together people of all different nationalities, genders and sexual orientations in a celebration of sexual freedom and self expression.”

This year’s exhibit at the GLBT Historical Society will chronicle the organization’s evolution from a small, underground gathering to largest leather/fetish event in the world and the third largest, single-day outdoor event in California. “We are thrilled to celebrate our 25th Fair with style and a week’s worth of truly outstanding events and programs. This exhibit is a great addition to our annual event.” says Jacob Richards, Folsom Street Board VP and exhibit co-curator.

This is a reminder of the Third Sunday North Bay/Petaluma Munch. We meet from 11:30ish to 1ish at the Apple Box Restaurant (Apple Box) at 224 B St. Petaluma

Thurs July 17- Remedial Ropes III: Bedroom Transformations

Start Time: 8:00 PM

This is the perfect class for you if your bondage skills begin and end with tying your shoes.
Remedial Ropes includes sections on basic safety and simple knots to create bondage anywhere. Route III adds ties for discrete and immediate uses in the bedroom including lacing your bed with tie points and moment's notice ties for 1 to 4 point restraints
Remedial Ropes I or II not necessary, as this is a stand-alone remedial level class.
Rope is not necessary as we will have plenty to loan out, but one section of 15 feet couldn't hurt.

Ideas for playing with limitations

So recently I have found out that I have phase 2 of Scoliosis as well as 4 pinched nerves in my neck and back.

This is the perfect class for you if your bondage skills begin and end with tying your shoes.
Remedial Ropes includes sections on basic safety and simple knots to create bondage anywhere. Route III adds ties for discrete and immediate uses in the bedroom including lacing your bed with tie points and moment's notice ties for 1 to 4 point restraints
Remedial Ropes I or II not necessary, as this is a stand-alone remedial level class.
Rope is not necessary as we will have plenty to loan out, but one section of 15 feet couldn't hurt.

This class will lead you through specific scenarios you might encounter as you observe play or work a shift as a DM at the Citadel. We will have many new scenarios for this class, in addition to upping the ante by having multiple scenes going on at once! As with the last Case Scenarios class, the style of instruction will be very different from any other DM training in the Bay Area- we will have less than ten minutes of lecture before getting down to actually SHOWING you scenarios and letting class participants troubleshoot these situations.

You are welcome to attend even if you are not interested in volunteering as a DM, as this class will provide useful information on conducting a safe scene and "fitting in" in the public dungeon environment, as well as orientation to the SF Citadel rules and BDSM community "norms."

Previous DM training or experience not required- this is a stand-alone class. This training is HIGHLY recommended for all SF Citadel DM volunteers. There is no charge for this class. For new DMs, note that to DM at the Citadel additional orientation, scene experience, and/or references may be required. I just wanted to say thank you to all the 'cats' I herded down market Street yesterday. If the reactions from the crowds were any indication, it was a rip-roaring success for the people of SF Citadel.

Thanks need to go to all who attended the contingent training, without you there would have been no marching at all and a special thanks to one of our bannermen, slavemichael. His efforts to keep the crowd going were amazing and got plenty of screams and hollers from the thousands lining the streets.

As with anything in BDSM, there is no right way and no wrong way, and there are as many different styles of age play as there are people doing it! One memory that I have of the last (and first) Pride celebration that I attended was seeing a rather skilled member of the Citadel spontaneously single-tail a hackey-sack out of mid-air, on the first try, with virtually no warm-up! I doubt that I will ever witness such such a feat by other hands (outside of an Indiana Jones movie), and feel proud to belong to the same dungeon as this legendary domme. Seeing everyone donned in their best dungeon duds, out in the bright sunshine, in front of millions of people, was an unforgettable experience as well!

Why not share the ride?

With the price of gas going up, has anyone stopped going out as much? I noticed a post on the board about someone looking to rideshare, and I was completely thrilled. I think it would be great if more folks started carpooling to parties. Think, if you could cut your gas usage in half coming to a party, you could maybe add in another class or another party to your schedule where it might not otherwise be possible.

Ride sharing isn't for everyone, but it can be a great solution. I bet, right now, you live nearby friends that you see out at the Citadel pretty regularly.

Why not share the ride?
