This was my first time attending the legendary competition that is Iron Dom and it was definitely super fun. Watching people turn some totally unrelated random objects into actual usable toys was really pretty amazing. The scenes that took place were entertaining and definitely believable, proving that one doesn't need mucho cash to have a bag full of nice toys.
YAY to all the awesome tops for their impressive display of creativity and fun scenes, and congratulations to our very own Master Erik for becoming Iron Dom 2008. The title is definitely well deserved.
Last but for sure not least thanks to all the great volunteers for helping prepare the yummy food and do all the stuff that makes something like this happen, and of course to Domina for being behind this entirely unique event.
It was so great getting to participate in this after hearing about it after the fact last year. I look forward to being a part of this again next year.

Master Erick is Iron Dom 2008
Sun, August 3, 2008 - 5:54 AMAnd all I can say is that it was a close race!! The contestants were UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have rarely seen such creativity. When I put women's purses in the bags, I never even thought of using them as hoods. Three people did, and very effectively, too. As for the bone...well, I just have to say that I had never considered a bone dildo.
I want to thank everyone for making the Iron Dom such a great success. August and Phil are so wonderful for letting us have the space. I donated the food we used for lunch, so every penny that we took in actually goes to the food bank. And we made nearly $600.
Everyone who volunteered from the Stunt Bottoms like Heidi Ho, to the Judges was willing to do extra duty. Mikey not only was Judges Boy, but he vacuumed the dungeon after the toy making, the upstairs after the contest, and he fetched and carried for the tops. Jesse helped out at the door and with food. Erik watched the door while waiting his turn to go on. (The tops can't watch the contest until after they have performed.) The Audience helped fold the chairs afterward. Every volunteer did more than his/her share. This was truly a community event.
And I have to commend one special bottom. Elliot darn near won the contest for her top. (not that Grizzly himself wasn't great, but Elliot really worked at it.)
This was my girl, Meryl's first Iron Dom, and she was the one who came up with the fiendish idea for the music and made the CD. Someone suggested selling the CD to raise money. August has the CD, and all I can say is that if I hear "Knock Three Times" when I am playing, August better run. Then again, after brainstorming with Heather and Meryl about next year's music...all I can say is that this year's might sound good. I'm planning to leave that again in Meryl's capable hands so stay tuned for next year.
As for Meryl and Lee, I could not have done this without their help and support. Lee is our power tool guy every year, and Meryl kept me from getting hysterics as well as working her ass off serving food, cuing the music, and cleaning up.
I love you all, and I can't wait for next year.

Song List
Mon, August 4, 2008 - 11:21 AMI think we ought to list songs that we'd like to see someone try to do a scene to. Just in case Meryl fails of inspiration. (In case you don't know, Meryl, you are now in charge of music for the Iron Dom; mwahahahaha)
Some of my suggestions are:
Born Free by Andy Williams
Mrs Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter by Herman's Hermits
My Ding ALing by Chuck Berry
Whip It by Devo
The Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes
I'm too Sexy by Right Said Fred
Anything that Abba sings
Sometimes When We Touch by Dan Hill
You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone
We Are the World by some bunch of people.
Chick a Boom by Daddy Dewdrop
Precious and Few by Climax Blues Band
Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band
Beat It by Michael Jackson
Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport by some Australian idiot
Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me by Mac Davis
Me and You and a Dog Named Boo by Lobo
Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees
Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus
Make it With You by Bread
Blue Bayou by Linda Ronstadt
Just When I needed You Most by Randy Van Warmer
Before the Next Teardrop Falls by Freddy Fender
Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head by BJ Thomas (Does the BJ stand for BlowJob?)
Wasted Days and Wasted Nights (this may be Freddy Fender, too)
MacArthur Park by Richard Harris
Does Anyone Know What Time it is by Chicago
Do You think I'm Sexy by Rod Stewart (Just the idea of this song in this contest cracks me up)
You Don't Bring Me Flowers by Barbara Streisand and Neil Diamond
Hair by (I think) the Cowsills
Brand New Key by Melanie
You Needed Me by Anne Murray
Haven't Got Time for the Pain and Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon (actually, I like Carly, but the songs are hilarious combined with what we do)
Macho Man by the Village People
Alone Again, Naturally by Gilbert O'Sullivan
And I admit, I looked up bad songs on Google. There are plenty more.

Re: Master Erick is Iron Dom 2008
Mon, August 4, 2008 - 3:06 PM.."I will never forget Master Erik playing to "Let It Be Me"! ...
..& for the record, Meryl---neither will I! LOL
Iron Dom competition was fun beyond mere words, yet at the same time was more grueling than you can imagine!
Picture having some really off-the-wall hodgepodge piled on a table before you, with a couple rolls of black electrical tape, a jar of rubber cement, & box of upholstery tacks...& in only 2 HOURSyou have to not only make some functional kinky toys from them, but (a) they have to last for a 10-minute scene, (b) you're being judged on them & your scene, & (c) you're competing against others whom not only do you not know their level of creativity, but you don't even know what they've made because you haven't seen their stuff!!
And then....there's THE MUSIC!!! OMG!!---THE M-U-S-I-C!!! ROTFLMAO I was last to go on, & I kept thinking to Myself, "the music will pickup, the music will pickup..." uhhhhh---NO!
But you wanna know something folks? I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I've waited 2 years to compete for Iron Dom, & it was well worth the wait! Thank you Domina & your fantastic crew for an awesome event.

Tue, August 5, 2008 - 1:43 AMAbout 15 years ago I did an infamous No Safeword on the Music scene that is still being talked about to this day. I'd be happy to help you with next year's music if you'd like.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Barry Manilow!"
